DEWATERING SCREENS - VIBROFLUX®
Vibroflux® Dewatering Screens are high frequency/low amplitude screens with the deck inclined upwards towards the discharge end. They are used for sand dewatering, to reduce the moisture content of sands and to filter out very fine particles and silt. The removal of contaminants, such as silt, yields excellent concrete sands, with the added advantage of eliminating the cost of transporting water, and any water leakage onto roads.

AMP offers a wide range of dewatering screens, in order to achieve high product quality expectations from operators.
During dewatering, water is filtered through the media as a result of vibration while the material is conveyed towards the discharge. The special design of the trough, combined with the linear vibration of the screen achieves excellent results with ultra-fine products, obtaining moisture values between 10-15%, depending on the nature of the material, particle size distribution and moisture content of the infeed. The filtered water carries solid particles whose size is slightly smaller than the mesh apertures, which must be recovered by means of hydrocycloning and incorporated in final products at a subsequent stage in the process.
Among its various applications: in sand dewatering to improve its quality, when the water in the final product contains with harmful impurities; re-use of water in aggregate washing plants with water scarcity; to maintain a constant moisture content of sands, especially those used in concrete manufacture; to eliminate increased costs for the haulage of excess water and avoid water spillage on roads; for the filtration of material with a fine PSD, removing the need for other more costly equipment, such as vacuum filters or filter presses.
DEWATERING SCREENS WITH VACUUM SYSTEM
When it is necessary to achieve the minimum moisture content in the final product, the Vibroflux ® dewatering screens may be fitted with a built-in negative pressure vacuum system. With such a system the filtration of the fluid through the bed of material is produced not only by the vibration but also by the vacuum created through the screen media, which reduces the moisture content of the product to minimum values
DEWATERING SCREENS VS. FILTERS
Vibroflux ® dewatering screens can be used in the filtration of particles as an alternative to filters, provided that the content of the ultra-fine fractions is not too high. This has been demonstrated effectively in their use for drainage from tailings instead of dehydration by vacuum band filters, and in other applications, such as iron and tungsten ores as well as in silica sands, barite, coal, etc. with fine particle size distribution.
