AMP Log Washers are ideal machines for scrubbing difficult materials such as tough insoluble clays, ball clays, conglomerates, soft stone and cemented aggregates that contain clays, up to a maximum size of 80 - 100mm. They are chosen when traditional washing, for example spraybars/nozzles installed on screens, is insufficient to obtain products that meet the necessary specifications for use in the production of concretes and asphalts.
AMP Log Washers disintegrate soils and clays contained in all-in material due to the forced attrition and continuous grinding action generated by the two contra-rotating shafts fitted with heavy duty paddle blades.The length of the washer is determined by the quantity and type of pollutants present in the material. Further adjustments are possible to suit different operational parameters, including the shaft speed and the inclination of the machine.
A robust rectangular trough, constructed from machine-welded mild steel plate, supports two shafts made of thick-walled steel tube with proper dimensions and thickness, to which paddle blade mounts are welded. The paddle blades are an alloy of chrome - molybdenum that guarantees maximum resistance to wear, and are bolted to the mounts, permitting quick and easy replacement when necessary
The shafts are driven through a transmission system consisting of an oversized gear reducer connected to the motor via a vee belt drive set (pulleys, hydraulic coupling and belts), which attaches to a pinion connected to two gears, thus ensuring a perfect synchronism of the two shafts
Shortly after starting up feed to the machine, a layer of the material is retained in the trough, which protects against undue wear produced by the passage of the material through to the discharge end of the washer. It is normal to introduce additional water into the flow, through an injection nozzle, in order to increase the liquid content to reduce friction and, thus, energy consumption
AMP Log Washers, due to the design and perfectly balanced movement, are vibration-free, allowing installation on the same structure that supports the rinsing and sizing screen, or they can be installed onto a prepared base as free-standing units.
