SIEVE BENDS - VIBROSIEVE®
The AMP Vibrosieve sieve bend has been specially designed for fine classification in the range of 0.25mm to 2mm. The main applications are: classification of silica sands for manufacture of glass, foundry and filtration; classification of sands for high-strength and precast concrete; classification of industrial minerals for gravimetric concentration or magnetic separation processes; pre-screening ahead of other process stages in chemical and food industries.
The frame is constructed from high quality mild steel with protective paint, electrically welded, creating an extremely rigid structure. Potential high wear areas incorporate replaceable rubber linings. Screen media is of modular, non-bolted, polyurethane with a stepped trapezoidal cross section to eliminate blockage and obstruction. The natural resonance and elasticity of the polyurethane develop a very high efficiency and create a self cleaning effect. The range of apertures available is between 0.3 mm and 2.5 mm. Sieve bends may be either static or with a high frequency vibration using adjustable vibrator(s) to regulate the amplitude and the angle of throw, which can be linear or elliptical, to suit the duty.
The process is based on the principle of a curved grid, from near vertical to horizontal. The feed slurry is introduced to the upper part of the sieve bend, with a concentration of between 15% and 25% solids. The fine particles, due to the effect of the screen form and vibration, pass through the mesh along with most of the liquid, into a collecting trough. The thickened product is discharged from the bottom section completely drained. High pressure water jets help to disperse and separate the material to increase classification efficiency.
