Research and materials

testing

We develop new technologies in process equipment and solutions for mineral ores and other raw materials treatment, through the latest developments in applied science and technology to industry, in search of practical results for the industries we serve and looking for the satisfaction of our customer needs.

Our research and development services are accomplished in collaboration with our valuable clients and institutions to verify closely results and objectives fulfilment.

AMP has the adequate facilities and technical personnel to carry out tests on minerals, sands, coal, salts, slag and recycled products in bench scale or semi-industrial-scale pilot plants. This investigation shall be performed as to stablishing from the earliest stages of the project the specific process required by the researched materials, which shall be applied later at industrial scale.

Field work material testing by mobile plants of semi-industrial capacity, available in various types and configurations, allow research into new process techniques and explore productivity improvements in existing plants. Our metallurgical engineers have wide experience and knowledge after decades of activity and are involved in the development of complete testing programs to outline the process sequence that will guarantee a stable and efficient operation of the flow-sheet of the existing plants.

The analysis and characterization of material samples, either minerals or sands, thru laboratory or pilot plant simulation of certain processes, will allow to develop an efficient engineering to reach to a customized plant of latest technology that will guarantee high availability, technical reliability, productive efficiency and reduction in investment costs.

The different testing programs in course are currently accomplished in the presence of the client operators, to achieve the optimization aimed for its mining operation efficiently. Among the programs mentioned are:

  1. Separation of minerals and industrial sands by gravity.
  2. Concentration of heavy minerals (gold, tin, tungsten, iron).
  3. Elimination of contaminants (organic or heavy particles).
  4. Washing and classification of mineral ores and sands.
  5. Clarification and thickening of water and clays.
  6. Dehydration of sand and clays by draining or filtering.
  7. Attrition for the disintegration or release of particles.
  8. Grinding of metallic and industrial minerals.
  9. Magnetic and electrostatic separation.
  10. Compaction and granulation of powdered materials.
  11. Pilot scale beneficiation of metallic minerals, industrial minerals and coal.
  12. Material handling: sample dividing, size reduction, sieving, drying and preparation for physical and chemical analysis.

The execution of chemical and mineralogical tests, as well as specific research works that may require special facilities and analysis equipment is carried out in investigation centres or universities in close collaboration with our process engineers.
