CONVES® System
has been specifically designed for the automatic control of the sedimentation rate, applied to the operation of Clarifiers/Thickeners. Its construction includes state-of-the-art components that provide great reliability and efficiency to the system, including a PLC, whose specifically designed software ensures an optimal control of the sedimentation-clarification process, minimizing flocculant consumption with consequent economic savings.
The operation of CONVES® is based on the periodic measurement of the sedimentation velocity by means of a test tube test, similar to that carried out in the laboratory, but performed on-line by the system itself, comparing the value obtained with a “set-point” control value set by the system itself. If the speed obtained is higher or lower than the set-point value, it causes a decrease or increase in the dosage of the flocculant solution to the settling equipment, thus maintaining the sedimentation speed within the parameters considered optimal for the sedimentation process to be controlled.Solutions by Process

Functioning
Since the control cycle time is very short, it is possible to program the execution of the control cycles almost every minute, which allows precise control of the process by having a quick response of the system to unforeseen events. The cycle is initiated by introducing pressurized air into the vessel to remove any remaining material.
Vacuum is then generated for sampling and the aspiration cycle is interrupted when the material reaches the upper level and the sedimentation time is counted. Once counted, the vessel is emptied and the washing cycle is started with clean water.
